Heart on My Sleeve

By | February 15th, 2017|#knitsharelearn, #knitsharelove, Designs|

Heart On My Sleeve When Emily from Tin Can Knits told me about this project last year I was blown away. A collection of sweaters by some of the most respected and inspiring designers out there to raise money for charity, what a fantastic way to spread love and give back! When you buy the ebook, $16.80 of the $18 USD purchase price goes to the Against Malaria Foundation (the other $1.20 is made up of Paypal and Ravelry fees). Each sweater is worked in DK from the bottom up, with a yoke construction and the [...]

Times flies | Socktober

By | October 9th, 2016|Designs, Socks|

Time certainly does fly - this year has whizzed past me at an incredible rate of knots. How have you been? Hopefully the last few months have been good to you. Things here are settling down slowly. I was reminded earlier this week that it has been almost three years since I embarked on my journey of sock heel exploration that turned into the Sock Anatomy. To celebrate Socktober I thought it would be good fun to look back at the lovely socks from this collection. Nine simple socks to knit, each focussing on a different heel, in nine sizes. [...]

The Travel Trio

By | June 10th, 2016|#knitsharelove, Designs, Socks, Travel|

The Travel Trio | New Designs and Knit-along Hello, how are you? I hope your June is off to a good start. I am adapting to the chill of the Victorian winter (in all honesty it is far colder than I expected it to be and I may have done a little grumbling in the last few weeks as I pulled on "all the knitwear" to keep warm). The silver lining is I am getting to wear all my lovely hand knits. We are settling in nicely to our new home and I have been meeting lovely knitters which is [...]

I have a few exciting things in the works - more about that very soon. In the meantime I wanted to share my latest release with you - Yaw. Yaw This pattern was in The Knitter last year and I am super excited to be able to release it on Ravelry today. I think it is the perfect combination of easy breezy [...]

Winter Warmer | New Design | Beek

By | January 27th, 2016|#knitsharelove, Designs, Yarn|

Winter Warmer | New Design | Beek It’s pretty chilly out there for many of you. I am always fascinated by how much snow can fall in such a short period of time – fascinated from afar that is, I am not generally a cold fan (odd for a knitter I know). In keeping with the need to be warm and toasty I have just released a new pattern – Beek. Worked in chunky yarn this hat will knit up in a flash, especially if you opt to knit the cables without a cable needle, leaving you and your loved [...]

The (virtual) Tea Party KAL comes to an end ...  The Tea Collection by Clare Devine Happy New Year. I hope your year is off to a good start. My little adventure is well underway and I am now writing to you from the sunny shore of South Africa where the summer sun is warming my bones and filling my sun loving soul with joy. After a very long flight (three flights with a two year old was never going to be fun) we arrived at my in-laws and I logged on to see loads of Tea Hats [...]

GAL2015 | knit along and pattern sale Hi, Hope you have had a wonderful week. I am just about to head up to Edinburgh for one last woolly adventure for the year, I have packed enough knitting for two weeks even though I am only going for 48 hours. I always fear running out of knitting on a trip! I know I am not the only knitter with this problem though.... I wanted to pop past and tell you about a great knit along and pattern sale that is taking place over on Ravelry. Each year designers get together for the [...]

The Lapsang Story

By | November 10th, 2015|Designs, The Tea Collection|

A story about a hat called Lapsang ... Me keeping warm with my Lapsang in December 2014 on the east coast of Scotland. This story starts last autumn at Yarndale (a fibre festival held in Yorkshire). I had been knee deep in sock samples for Sock Anatomy for months and craved something quick, 'smooshy' and gloriously easy to knit. I stopped at Eden Cottage Yarns and was instantly drawn to a delightfully soft skein of Maya Chunky in the colourway Stone. This stunning grey yarn has the beautifully subtle tonal details that Victoria, the dyer behind Eden Cottage [...]
