What is The Tea Collection Club?

The Tea Collection Vol II Many of you will remember The Tea Collection Vol I - a collection of eleven gorgeous tea inspired hats, with a couple of cowls to make sure your neck stays warm and cozy. I really enjoyed creating those designs and it was such a pleasure to watch you knitting your way through the collection. So, Jess and I have teamed up again, and we have a new collection - fuelled by our love of tea, knitting and great yarn. We are very excited to share The Tea Collection II with you. Our brand [...]

New Design | Oriental Beauty

By | April 6th, 2017|The Tea Collection, The Tea Collection Club, Yarn|

Oriental Beauty As the steam gently rises from your tea cup, you breathe in the beautiful aromas gliding into the air, a sense of calm washes over you ... sitting down, you pick up your knitting and gently ease back into your favourite chair, relaxing stitch by stitch. Created to celebrate the launch of The Tea Collection Club and inspired by the deliciously rich Oolong tea from my favourite Edinburgh tea shop, Pekoe Tea. Oriental Beauty is worked in aran weight yarn - so it knits up quickly and is a really satisfying project. Worked inside out [...]

My little adventure is well underway and I am now writing to you from the sunny shore of South Africa where the summer sun is warming my bones and filling my sun loving soul with joy. The Lapsang Story

By | November 10th, 2015|Designs, The Tea Collection|

A story about a hat called Lapsang ... Me keeping warm with my Lapsang in December 2014 on the east coast of Scotland. This story starts last autumn at Yarndale (a fibre festival held in Yorkshire). I had been knee deep in sock samples for Sock Anatomy for months and craved something quick, 'smooshy' and gloriously easy to knit. I stopped at Eden Cottage Yarns and was instantly drawn to a delightfully soft skein of Maya Chunky in the colourway Stone. This stunning grey yarn has the beautifully subtle tonal details that Victoria, the dyer behind Eden Cottage [...]

My Everyday Brew | 1

By | October 22nd, 2015|Everyday Brew, Guest Blogging, The Tea Collection|

Welcome to the 'My Everyday Brew' series... Peppermint Leaves from The Tea Collection. Image kindly created by aplayfulday | copyright aplayfulday While I spent the first half of my life in South Africa my family’s heritage is quite firmly rooted in Yorkshire. Needless to say the fact I don’t drink ‘proper tea’ makes me an anomaly amongst my nearest and dearest. Tea is such an interesting drink in that it varies so widely across the globe. I find the ritual of tea drinking fascinating and love learning about new tea drinking practices. My beloved Tea Collection hats have [...]

The Tea Collection | (virtual) Tea Party

By | October 14th, 2015|#knitsharelove, The Tea Collection|

The Tea Collection KAL Dear everyone, You are cordially invited to a (virtual) Tea Party... I am over the moon excited to finally be able to share the details of The Tea Collection knit along with you. A bit of history ....  This collection started in September last year when I picked up a gorgeous skein of chunky alpaca yarn at Yarndale and decided to knit myself a squishy chunky hat for the coming winter. That hat became the very much loved Lapsang and my love for tea inspired hats was firmly cemented. The very first Lapsang was grey (no [...]
