The Circle Club 2017

By | January 18th, 2017|Socks, The Circle Club|

Happy New Year! I hope 2017 is treating you kindly so far. My knitting year is off to a magical start and the year promises to be an interesting adventure with lots of opportunities to connect with knitters around the world. Today I wanted to tell you about my latest collaboration. If you are a sock knitting fan you may have seen my work with Joy from The Knitting Goddess last year. Over the course of 2016 we released a series of sock patterns called Blue Skies, as part of her annual yarn club. I was bowled over when [...]

Times flies | Socktober

By | October 9th, 2016|Designs, Socks|

Time certainly does fly - this year has whizzed past me at an incredible rate of knots. How have you been? Hopefully the last few months have been good to you. Things here are settling down slowly. I was reminded earlier this week that it has been almost three years since I embarked on my journey of sock heel exploration that turned into the Sock Anatomy. To celebrate Socktober I thought it would be good fun to look back at the lovely socks from this collection. Nine simple socks to knit, each focussing on a different heel, in nine sizes. [...]

Skua

By | August 5th, 2016|#knitsharelove, Socks, Yarn|

Hello there, Its August - somehow I blinked and its August! I think the theme for 2016 around here is going to be a general sense of shock at how fast time seems to be flying by. Last weekend I had my first trunk show in Australia - it was awesome and I was so grateful for the opportunity. Such fun meeting so many knitters - although I must admit I am looking forward to a quite weekend over the next few days. I might even tackle some of that sewing I have been meaning to do. I wanted to [...]

The Travel Trio

By | June 10th, 2016|#knitsharelove, Designs, Socks, Travel|

The Travel Trio | New Designs and Knit-along Hello, how are you? I hope your June is off to a good start. I am adapting to the chill of the Victorian winter (in all honesty it is far colder than I expected it to be and I may have done a little grumbling in the last few weeks as I pulled on "all the knitwear" to keep warm). The silver lining is I am getting to wear all my lovely hand knits. We are settling in nicely to our new home and I have been meeting lovely knitters which is [...]

By | April 19th, 2016|Designs, Socks, Yarn|

Yaw - an adventure in self stripe Hello there - I hope you are having a wonderful week. I am slowly sorting out the new house, unpacking boxes (it never seems to end) and getting myself back online. I have a few exciting things in the works - more about that very soon. In the meantime I wanted to share my latest release with you - Yaw. Yaw This pattern was in The Knitter last year and I am super excited to be able to release it on Ravelry today. I think it is the perfect combination of easy breezy [...]

Introducing Igwe | Blue Skies Club 2016

By | January 24th, 2016|Blue Skies, Socks, Yarn|

Introducing Igwe | January Blue Skies Design You may be forgiven to thinking that my love affair with socks was waning – especially with all the hat action in the last few months. Sock lovers, fear not, my first knitterly love is strong and the desire to fill the world with glorious hand knitted socks continues. Last year Joy from The Knitting Goddess contacted me about designing for her coveted sock yarn clubs – I blogged about the Blue Skies Club HERE.  At the start of January as we all eased our way into the new year the first packages [...]

Summer Socks | New Designs and Inspiration

By | July 1st, 2015|Designs, Giveaway, Sock Surgery|

{Links and resources to inspire your summer sock knitting} This week I am back on the Shinybees podcast for a summer sock round up - if you would like to listen to the episode pop over to Jo's blog. It is a slightly rambling episode recorded at the end of a long week, but hopefully you will enjoy it all the same :-) I think summer is a great time for knitting socks (okay, admittedly I think knitting socks is always a great idea but still...)   [av_heading heading='Ananas | New Design' tag='h3' style='' size='' subheading_active='' subheading_size='15' padding='10' color='' custom_font=''][/av_heading] [...]

By | June 20th, 2015|Socks, Yarn|

{New design in The Knitter | Unisex cables socks in gorgeous Eden Cottage Yarn} Hope you are having a wonderful weekend. I am excited to share a new design with you today. This one is in the latest issue of Simply Knitting (issue 135) available to buy in shops now. When I started designing these socks I knew I wanted something that would show off the incredible stitch definition of Eden Cottage Yarns Tempo DK (75% wool, 25% nylon). I found this unusual cable and knew they were the perfect match.   [av_heading heading='Trailing Ivy | Simply Knitting Issue 135' [...]
