Hello again

Hope you have had a wonderful week. It is very chilly here – far colder than I could ever have imagined – so my mind is firmly fixed on wool, and lots of it. I am trundling through my to-do list, which includes making time to work out exactly what to do with my blogging space. In the meantime I wanted to share this beautiful sweater with you that instantly grabbed my attention when I saw it on Ravelry.

The relaxed fit, drop sleeve and delicate touch of colour combine beautifully to create this wonderfully stylish but relaxed garment. I love theĀ pale neutral teamed with a splash of green and know first hand who magical that Blacker Swan is – deliciously soft, with a subtle bounce and a fabulous handle.

I have spent rather too long this morning pondering what I have in my stash that I could use to knit this beauty. The slightly heavier 4ply nature of the Blacker yarn means it would lend itself well to heavier 4 ply, sports and some of the lighter DKs out there. I keep thinking about the Shilasdair Luxury DK we stock in the knitting shop I have just started working in – I think it would be a superb match. Shame they don’t do a grey, I might have to branch out and knit something more colourful when I get round to casting this one on.

I am especially drawn to this beautiful design as I chatted to Trin about her fibre journey for my series Knitter Journey last year. You can read the full blog post and see more examples of her exquisite knitting here.

You can find more details about this stunning sweater over on Ravelry.

If you decide to knit one I would love to hear which yarn you choose – I always love knitting vicariously through others ….

Until next time – happy knitting!
